Waste management technology is a key constituent of successful drilling and production operations. The proper application of waste management principles is necessary for both effective drilling operations and environmental protection. Waste streams from drilling include drilling fluids and cuttings that are collected, processed, handled, transported, and disposed.
High exploration and production activities, ever increasing stringent government regulations and escalating investments from the oil and gas operators all drove drilling waste management. The trend is set to continue further with the current surge in offshore activities and shale reserve exploratory activities.
The global drilling waste management market is therefore expected to add to approximately $8 billion by 2018, at a CAGR of more than 10% from 2013 to 2018.
Geographically, North America and Europe are large markets that grew rapidly in the past decade. These regions are likely to continue to dominate in future. Upcoming markets include South America, the Middle East, and Africa due to recent initiation of environmental policies respectively within the regions.
This report analyzes and classifies the market by applications, services, and regions. Market split by application includes onshore and offshore activities within major regions; while the services market is categorized under solids control services, containment & handling services, and treatment & disposal services.
Scene of Drilling Waste Management
By dint of resource sharing and integration of international oil equipment manufacturers and engineering services providers, KOSUN has built close strategic cooperation with foreign well-known drilling fluid engineering services providers and drilling waste management providers to jointly discuss and develop integrated services, including drilling waste management, drilling fluid supply, drilling fluid additives, oil chemicals, and to provide the most reliable products and the top quality services for oilfields all over the world.
The drilling waste management manufactured by KOSUN include the following equipments:
Hi-G Dryer:Hi-G shaker recovers drill fluids cuttings from water-based and oil-based drilling fluids, can make the proportion of the liquid phase in the drilling to below 10%, can significantly reduce the cost of the waste discharge, and is particularly effective in the oil base mud cuttings.
Screw Pump: Screw pump is an ideal pump to feed decanter centrifuge, the fluids flow along with the shaft, inner flow speed is slow, capacity remains, pressure is steady, without vortex and agitating. The screw pump can also be used in the drilling waste management for wet mud and cutting transportation.
Screw Conveyer: Screw conveyer, commonly known as auger. It has horizontal, inclined and combined form, and it can be used with other transport devices, to accomplish combined transport, separate transport, mixing, blending, dehydration, compounding, discharging and stacking, etc. KOSUN screw conveyer used in the drilling waste management for the drilling fluids or cuttings transportation.
Vertical Centrifuge: Vertical Centrifuge returns and recycles large percentages of SBM (Synthetic Base Mud) and OBM (Oil Base Mud) to an active system which in the past was lost as waste products to the environment. KOSUN Vertical Centrifuge can reduce total discharged OOC below 6%, which is currently the discharge limit in many areas of the world, in many areas of the world, our goal is 5% total OBM discharge to the environment, and our goal is to reduce the percentage further.
